Coming straight out of Philadelphia, Zay Boogie is a rising voice with a story built on resilience, loyalty, and undeniable hunger. Born Tyzahe (pronounced Ty’zay), the 23-year-old artist from Northeast Philly carries a name that reflects both his roots and his personality. The name “Zay” had always been his nickname, but “Boogie” came from a friend who said he reminded him of Ace Boogie from the classic street film Paid in Full. The name stuck and so did the mentality that comes with it.

For Zay Boogie, music wasn’t always the main plan. But everything shifted around 2022–2023 when life started hitting hard. After one of his closest friends was incarcerated, Zay began looking at his own path differently. That moment pushed him to take his craft seriously and start seeing music not just as an outlet, but as a real opportunity to change his life.

Growing up in Northeast Philadelphia shaped his perspective and the authenticity in his music. Zay’s inspiration also comes from within his own circle especially his brother, who believed in him and pushed him long before others started paying attention. Seeing how hard his brother worked to help him get on made Zay step back and realize something important: his talent and his character were different.

That difference is exactly how he describes his brand. Zay Boogie calls his sound a “Different Type.” To him, it’s not just about bars or melodies it’s about presence, personality, and the way he moves. In his words, “IM RARE.” It’s the kind of energy that can’t fully be understood just from hearing a song. You have to see it, feel it, and experience it.

Musically, he draws inspiration from artists like A Boogie wit da Hoodie, whose authenticity and relatability helped shape Zay’s outlook on the industry. But Zay Boogie isn’t trying to copy anyone he’s focused on building his own lane.

And the momentum is already building.

Every record Zay Boogie has released has surpassed 10,000 streams, proving that listeners are paying attention. His single “Loyalty” has racked up more than 85,000 views, while his other releases continue climbing past the 10K mark. On stage, he’s already developed a reputation for bringing real energy, performing at multiple shows and leaving his mark each time. Along the way, he’s caught the attention of A&Rs and established artists who see the potential in his movement.

But the road hasn’t been easy.

While building his career, Zay has faced serious life challenges, including legal battles that could have cost him everything. He spent time in jail, endured months on house arrest, and continues fighting his case in court today. At the same time, he’s also staying solid for his brother and manager, who is currently incarcerated. Balancing all of that while continuing to create music takes a level of focus and strength that many artists never have to face.

Through it all, music became therapy.

It became an escape from the chaos around him a place where he could think clearly and express himself honestly. The moment he truly realized this was his purpose came when he finally heard his own music and told himself something simple but powerful: “Yeah… you different.”

Right now, Zay Boogie is locked in working on several new singles and an upcoming EP. While he’s keeping the title and exact release plans under wraps, one thing is clear new music is on the way, and the goal is to elevate everything.

Fans can also expect to see a lot more of him this year. Zay plans to connect with supporters more, engage with his audience, and continue building the community around his music.

At the core of everything he does is a message for both fans and upcoming artists: music is only part of the game. Zay believes success in the industry comes from understanding the business side. In his words, “Music is 25 percent. Business is 75 percent.” His advice is simple treat your career like an investment, learn the industry, and stay focused on building something real.

Looking ahead, Zay Boogie has his eyes on future collaborations with artists like Lil Tecca, Tory Lanez, Drake, and of course A Boogie wit da Hoodie artists who represent the kind of sound and impact he hopes to create on a global scale.

At the end of the day, Zay Boogie isn’t just trying to be another rapper coming out of Philadelphia. He wants to be remembered as a creator someone who took his story, his struggles, and his talent and turned them into something powerful.

Because when Zay Boogie steps in the booth, he’s not just making songs.

He’s making magic.
